JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you all about creating “that moment”, “that environment”, “that décor” that leaves people saying “WOW” and endlessly posting about it on social media?

We’re looking for you

We are Cornerstone, entering our fourth decade as a premiere live event production company. We’re seeking an Event Designer for a 6 month seasonal assignment—where you’ll use your talent and passion for creating immersive, transformative brand experiences.

In this position, you’ll assist in designing large-scale events and parties for top-tier companies throughout North America and internationally. And that creative muscle you like to flex—it will consistently get a workout

Got what it takes? We’re excited to hear from you, and to have you showcase your portfolio

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work closely with team members to translate ideas and objectives into captivating concepts, experiences, and environments—while adhering to brands, strategies, budgets, and other outlined parameters.
  2. Develop mood boards and digital sketches to showcase concepts. Partner with 3D artists to translate concepts into digital representations and to develop build drawings/schematics.
  3. Provide specs and material direction for environments, builds, florals, linens, etc. Support sourcing items, supply costs, and complete ordering processes as assigned.
  4. When assigned attend site visits to ensure understanding of facility spaces, capabilities, and/or restrictions. Take notes, photos/videos, etc.
  5. Support pre-event needs for scenic/environmental tasks, sourcing, builds, and design completion. Actively participate on-site setting up events/parties and executing all designs assignments through completion of show.
  6. Stay current on event design/trends, industry materials/resources, vendor capabilities, etc. Always be looking for and developing new ideas so you have concepts at the ready.
  7. Actively contribute to brainstorms, reviews, strategy meetings, etc. Maintain positive working relationships within all areas of the business, and with all external clients, vendors, and contractors.

 REQUIREMENTS:

  1. BA/BFA in interior design, environmental design, hospitality management, or related discipline.
  2. Portfolio required—showcasing experience in interior design, event design, tradeshow design, styling, theatre/scenic design, retail styling, floral arrangements, parties, etc.
  3. Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Keynote, and Microsoft Office programs.
  4. Strong team player, with the ability to work independently or collectively. Follows and receives direction well, positively applying feedback.
  5. Excellent communication skills. Detailed oriented/organized. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work within tight time frames.
  6. Ability to travel as needed to support assignments. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.
