Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU). As a Neuro PCU RN, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing care for a diverse group of patients with neurological conditions. This 38-bed telemetry-monitored unit offers a unique blend of complexity and variety, making it an ideal setting for nurses who thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.
Why Neuro PCU?
The Neuro PCU is a specialized unit where no two days are the same. The unit features a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and is part of an award-winning Comprehensive Stroke Center certified by the Joint Commission. As a member of this team, you will work with patients dealing with complex neurological conditions, including:
- Hemicraniectomy
- Aneurysm Clips and Coils
- Glioblastomas
- Carotid Endarterectomy
- Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA)
- Hemorrhagic and Ischemic Stroke
- Neurosurgery
- Seizures
- Brain Mass
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in the Neuro PCU, adhering to established standards and protocols.
- Monitor and assess patients using telemetry, responding promptly to changes in their condition.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Participate actively in the unit's team nursing model, contributing to a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Active and valid nursing license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Previous experience in a neuro or telemetry unit is preferred but not required.
