hrEdge is partnering with our client, Creative Sign Designs, to find an experienced HR Generalist for a part-time position in Tampa, Florida. This role will be remote, with occasional visits to the office for employee engagement, and offers a fluctuating and flexible schedule. 

 

This position is ideal for the seasoned HR Generalist looking for an easy-paced supplemental income with an established HR function and procedures in place. This position will work between 10 and 20 hours per week, with increased hours usually during payroll weeks.

 

Creative Sign Designs is seeking someone who enjoys working in all facets of HR including benefits, payroll, employee relations, recruiting, performance, compliance and employment law.   This is primarily an administrative role and most higher-level employee strategies and relations are handled by an executive leader.

 

The client may consider full-time candidates interested in splitting their time between Human Resources and a Staff Accountant role. To be considered for full-time, the candidate must possess 5+ years of experience within an Accounting function.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (HR/Payroll):

  • Bi-weekly processing of payroll via ADP Workforce Now - must be available on Wednesdays for this task
  • Year-end W-2 processing and support.
  • Full cycle of onboarding and offboarding
  • Partnering with leadership to interpret and enforce employment law
  • Partner with the broker to implement open enrollment efforts and monitor the enrollment process throughout the year utilizing Employee Navigator.
  • Respond to participant questions related to benefits (health, dental, vision, life, disability, 401k, etc.) and escalate higher level questions to external partners for resolution.
  • Assist employees with FMLA, pay-related questions, and benefits
  • Register for SIT and SUI taxes with new states as employees are hired.
  • Have a basic understanding of multi-state employment laws or the resources to research.
  • Maintaining of employment files
  • Response to unemployment and worker’s compensation inquiries
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS (HR/Payroll):

  • 5+ years of experience working directly within the Human Resources field as a Generalist (required).
  • 2-3 years payroll processing experience (required).
  • 2-3 years benefits support experience (preferred).
  • Ability to time-manage and self-motivate.
  • Prior experience working with HRMS/HRIS/ATS systems (ADP experience a plus).
  • Knowledge of multi-state and federal laws that apply to the duties of this position. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task when necessary.
  • Great oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions within the scope of the position.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional (rare) visits to the Tampa office.
