Setting: Skilled Nursing

Location: Avamere Rehab of Newport - 835 SW 11th Ave. Newport, OR 97365

Full-Time employment with successful completion of the class, facility pays testing and license fees for successful graduates

All candidates must attend registration and 100% of the scheduled program must be attended in person

This is a great start to become a Nursing Assistant in the State of Oregon and is also a great opportunity to start your healthcare career. Avamere offers tuition reimbursement for Nursing School or other Healthcare Professional courses after one year of full-time employment.

Class Start Date: September 2024

You Will Learn To:

  • Check each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes.
  • Review care plans daily to determine if changes in the resident’s daily care routine have been made on the care plan.
  • Inform the Nurse Supervisor of any changes in the resident’s condition so that appropriate information can be entered on the resident’s care plan.
  • Assist resident’s with daily needs, including preparation for activity and social programs, and transporting residents to/from appointments.
  • Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
  • Ensure that resident’s rooms are ready for receiving and make residents comfortable.
  • Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies.
  • Classroom Monday thru Friday 7am to 1:30 pm
  • Clinicals Monday thru Friday 6am to 2:30pm

Requirements:

  • Must possess a minimum of a 10th grade education.
  • 18 years old
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate necessary resident information to Charge Nurses, Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
  • CPR certified preferred but not required

NA Class Scholarship at OCCC

  • Be one of First Ten selected candidates to receive a full scholarship to OCCC
  • Class starts in September 2024

I, (Candidate Name), do hereby agree to pay back the full amount for Avamere Living's financial investment in my employment if:

  • My full-time status changes to anything less than full-time (which is an average for 9 consecutive weeks of no less than 30 hours per week), or
  • If I discontinue my employment or am involuntarily terminated by Avamere Living, or
  • If I am no longer qualified for the position for which I was hired, or
  • If I voluntarily move from the specific geographic area for which I was hired while Avamere Living has a business need for me to remain.

If any above condition exists, I am responsible to reimburse Avamere Living which will be deducted from my paychecks to the limit of the law. If this deduction does not fully repay the amount, then I agree to pay Avamere Living immediately upon my termination. I will also pay for any attorneys' fees and other charges incurred by Avamere Living in collecting this amount. My employment is on an at-will basis and nothing in this note alters or changes that fact.
