Job Summary

Houston MRI & Diagnostic Imaging is hiring for multiple locations We are seeking dedicated Paramedic I professionals responsible for monitoring patients in the case of a contrast reaction, starting IVs in the CT and MRI department, screening, and preparing patients for their procedures. This position may involve traveling between different centers, with gas reimbursements provided.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform IVs and set up the power injector in the CT department.
• Perform contrast injections in the MRI department.
• Welcome and escort patients to and from the dressing rooms, explain procedures, and answer patient questions.
• Assist CT and MRI Techs in taking patient histories and screening patients for their procedures.
• Assist CT and MRI Techs with patient positioning in the exam rooms as needed.
• Monitor patients during the procedures.
• Administer medications in case of a reaction to contrast.
• Assist in the proper screening of patients or anyone going into the MRI Room.
• Practice infectious control procedures and ensure overall safety practices at all times.
• Track and maintain contrast-related medical supplies. Report approaching expiration dates and the need to order supplies, etc.
• Stock and maintain linens properly.
• Keep up with and ensure own work schedule.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned including administrative backup and support.

Educational and Skills Requirements

• Two years of experience as an EMT-Paramedic.
• CPR license.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical office practices and procedures, and outpatient imaging.
• Current registration and licensure as required.
• Proficient in the use of office computer systems directly related to the job function.
• Ability to multi-task and remain detailed and organized.
• Ability to communicate and respond to questions in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.

• Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.

• Must have dependable transportation and the ability to travel.
