Position Title:               Maintenance Technician

Department:                Facilities

Reports to:                   Chief Engineer + Facilities Director

Supervises:                   None

 

Position Summary: The position implements preventative maintenance techniques in order to maintain the overall property in a high state of repair at all times. Work will generally be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions.

 

Employment Status: Seasonal employees can expect a consistent schedule from (approximately) April to October each year. Each October, employees are allowed to submit requests to transition to either part-time or full-time status. The approval of these requests will be based on the needs of the Club and the employee's performance track record. 

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent in appropriate experience
  • Valid Driver License
  • Two or more years’ experience in a similar position
  • Ability to work scheduled hours including, when necessary, holidays and weekends
  • Ability to lift 75lbs.
  • Lifting, bending, twisting, reaching crouching, and crawling throughout the course of the job
  • Being on your feet for an extended period of time

 

Job Duties:

  • Serves as a positive role model by:

  • Continually provides services in the areas of:
    • Plumbing repairs, including faucet repair and replacement, urinal and toilet flush valve repair, sink drains and piping, installation of insta-hot units, repair or installation of garbage disposals and the plunging and snaking of all clogged lines
    • Electrical repairs, including but not limited to, installation and replacement of light fixtures, replacement of light switches and outlets, replacement of bulbs and ballasts, installation of wiring runs and electrical fixtures including timers and photocells, breakers, ability to read a wiring diagram on all electrical devices, including kitchen equipment and HVAC units
    • Carpentry repairs which include the installation of doors, door trim, wall base, fabrication and installation of shelves or cabinets, installation of door closers, hinges and doorknobs, building of walls using wood or metal studs, installation and repair of drywall, ceiling tile replacement, repair and installation of restroom hardware
    • HVAC repairs, including replacement of thermostats, replacement of belts on assemblies, cleaning and replacement of filters, understanding of programmable thermostats, repair of natural gas fueled devices, cleaning and maintenance of condenser and heating units, troubleshooting steam and forced air heating and cooling problems, replacement of steam traps
    • Painting of interior and exterior surfaces, proper wall and surface preparation, repair of torn or loose wall covering, sanding and prepping of wood surfaces for stain and clear coat, proper application of stain and clear coat to wood surfaces
    • Repair of lawn irrigation systems
    • Familiarity of fire suppression systems
    • Exterior grounds maintenance that includes cutting and edging of grass, blowing/sweeping of clippings, leaf collection and disposal, proper use and maintenance of lawn equipment, snow removal using a flow truck, snow blower or hand shovel, proper use of ice melting compounds, proper use and maintenance of snow removal equipment, prepping and maintenance of clay tennis courts

 

  • Assumes responsibility for the department by:
    • Assisting supervisors in maintaining proper inventory levels
    • Maintaining storage facilities in a safe and organized manner
    • Communicating with supervisors and peers concerning ongoing projects, including completion of regular work orders
