Under the supervision of the Lab Director and Senior Staff the Medical Assistant will provide pre- and post-operative care, maintain the surgical room and recovery areas and complete some clerical work such as record keeping and answering phones. Training will be provided in Andrology to serve as backup in our IVF Lab when needed.

We are looking for a per-diem Medical Assistant. We will offer 5-8 shifts per month working Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

What You'll Do:

  • Answer phones and schedule appointments as well as general administrative tasks
  • Prepares patients for treatment including taking patient history and vitals.
  • Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties and answering questions.
  • Maintain current inventory of supplies and medications to avoid overstocking and/or running out of supplies, and to keep medication dates current.
  • Assist physicians in our operating room during procedures relating to in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
  • Maintain sterile field during operating room set-up and procedures Document procedures accurately and completely.
  • Clean and stock the procedure and recovery rooms thoroughly daily, weekly, and on an as needed basis.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments daily.
  • Clean the autoclave weekly and keep a current log.
  • Maintain medical equipment in good condition and arrange for repairs as necessary.
  • Keeps a log of all maintenance and dates of services.
  • Maintain logs and other records of medical procedures.
  • Clean/turn over rooms.
  • Empty red bags and replace them.
  • Perform patient-care functions under the supervision of the physician.
  • Cross-train in andrology to provide back-up when needed.

What You'll Bring:

  • Associates Degree in chemical, physical or biological science
  • Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant Certification
  • 2+ Years of Medical Assistant Experience
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good research skills
  • Tech Savvy
