Human Resources Intern

Opus Packaging has a summer internship opening for a motivated and enthusiastic Human Resources Intern.

This internship opportunity will provide valuable hands-on experience in the field of Human Resources within a manufacturing setting. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to learn about various aspects of HR, including recruitment, employee communications, and HR analytics while applying your academic knowledge to real-world situations.

In addition to working on HR-related projects, you may also have the opportunity to rotate through different departments within the company to gain a comprehensive understanding of our operations. This will provide you with a well-rounded experience and insight into the various functions of our organization.

What you need to be successful at Opus Packaging:

• Currently enrolled in a HR-related program of college study
• Proficiency in basic computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong leadership and business acumen skills
• Able to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Independent judgment and decision-making ability.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities could include:

• Collaborating on the development and implementation of various HR programs and solutions to improve performance and processes, such as:
  • Managing reports and HR metrics that measure efficiency and effectiveness across our plants.
  • Researching alternative attendance points programs and creating a strategy for improving our current program.
  • Reviewing our company handbook and collaborating with management on improvements.
• Assisting with recruiting activities, including inputting data into applicant tracking systems, identifying candidates, and scheduling interviews.
• Supporting the hiring and onboarding of new associates.
• Assisting with employee communications and social media presence.
• Planning, implementing, and executing Associate Appreciation events.
• Helping with day-to-day HR functions and various HR projects.
