Surgical Sterilization Assistant

Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our surgical team. The Surgical Assistant will work closely with the surgical team to provide support during surgical procedures. This position requires the ability to assist with various tasks in the operating room. The ideal candidate would have a background in the surgical field, know equipment that is used during procedures. Shift expectations are Monday -Friday 9am -5 pm

Duties:
- Perform all duties in accordance with government regulations, and hospital policies & procedures.

-Effective Verbal and written Communication with both clients and team members

-Attention to detail and a calm demeanor

-Clean, Wrap and sterilize surgical instruments

-Maintain inventory of surgical stock

-Complete routine maintenance of surgical Autoclave, plasma sterilizer

- Scrub into surgery for assistance as needed

Requirements:
- Ability to stay Calm and efficient during times of high stress
- Knowledge medical terminology
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

-previous Veterinary and /or surgical experience preferred but not required
