Job Description: Refrigeration Technician

Overview:

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems, including commercial refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, and other related equipment.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration system issues, providing prompt and effective repairs.

• Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.

• Monitor system operation to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including proper refrigerant handling.

• Work with customers to explain maintenance procedures and the proper operation of refrigeration equipment.

• Keep detailed records of service work, parts used, and time spent on each job.

• Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, refrigeration technologies, and regulatory changes.

• Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.

• Respond to emergency service calls and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• EPA 608 Certification for Refrigerant Handling.

• Proven experience as a Refrigeration Technician, with at least 3 years in the field.

• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and maintenance practices.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience working with both commercial and residential refrigeration systems.

• Knowledge of HVAC systems and their integration with refrigeration systems.

• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and refrigeration service equipment.

• Strong commitment to safety and environmental regulations.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
