We are hiring a cleared AutoCAD Drafter II to support a U.S. Army NEC in Ft. Huachuca, Az.

The AutoCAD Drafter II is a pivotal position responsible for maintaining the integrity, planning, design, and documentation of Communications and Information Technology (C&IT) systems through comprehensive drafting and database management. This individual will manage intricate maps, cable/fiber configurations, sketches, diagrams, and related data, ensuring the continuity and standardized representation of the information systems infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Configuration Management: Provide standardized planning, design, implementation, installation, O&M, and documentation support for C&IT systems.

2. Drawing Maintenance: Create, update, and maintain drawings of all information system circuits, lines, and systems using the Government’s Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) program.

3. Database Management: Manage a web-based information database composed of complex maps, configurations, sketches, diagrams, photographs, and other related data. Ensure centralized management of all data linked with information system installation architectures.

4. Drawing Conversion: Maintain drawing files in printable formats and adeptly translate drawings to Microsoft Visio and Adobe PDF.

5. Customer Support: Assist customers in troubleshooting software issues and provide guidance on accessing the relevant data.

6. Drawing Library: Support CAD blue line drawings and electronic/hard copy Plant-in-Place drawing libraries. Concurrently, update the customer Telephony Management System (TMS) asset management databases as required.

Requirements:


  • Associate’s degree in a related field and 3 years’ relevant experience. (An additional 2 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.)
  • Certified training in the use of the AutoCAD system.
  • Proficiency in Global Positioning System (GPS) software/equipment, plotters, and scanners.
  • Display a keen ability to follow circuit paths, understand circuit diagrams, identify circuit components, and interpret schematic cable/fiber runs and engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrable experience with Configuration Management and version control techniques.
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance.

Desired Experience:

  • Previous experience at an Army NEC or with U.S. military C&IT systems.
