Job Title: Loan Officer

Location: Detroit, MI

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Loan Officer to join our team in Detroit, MI. The Loan Officer will be responsible for evaluating, authorizing, and recommending approval of real estate, commercial, or credit loans. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of financial products and services, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with clients to understand their financial needs and recommend suitable loan products.

  2. Loan Processing: Evaluate loan applications and documentation by verifying creditworthiness, income, assets, and collateral. Determine the feasibility of granting loans and make recommendations based on analysis.

  3. Compliance: Ensure compliance with lending regulations and internal policies. Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry trends.

  4. Risk Assessment: Assess the risk of each loan application and make decisions accordingly. Identify and mitigate potential risks to the organization.

  5. Sales and Marketing: Promote loan products and services to potential clients. Participate in marketing activities and events to attract new business opportunities.

  6. Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate loan documentation. Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

  7. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service throughout the loan process. Address client inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.

  8. Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as underwriting, legal, and compliance to ensure smooth loan processing and closing.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
  2. Proven work experience as a loan officer or similar role.
  3. Strong understanding of lending principles, practices, and regulations.
  4. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office and loan origination software.
  8. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  9. Sales and marketing experience is a plus.
