The Gymnastics Coordinator of a California Sports Center training facility is an important leader within the location. Because of the size of this facility, this person will partner with the Site Manager and other 'Coordinators' to oversee many aspects of the operation. In this position a strong understanding of how employees work with kids will be necessary. A personal understanding of gymnastics for all ages and levels will be greatly beneficial. An educational background in child development and love of kids will succeed greatly in this position. We can teach additional / new gymnastics skills when that is necessary.
Qualifications: At least two years experience in a supervisory, management, and/or a leadership role in the gymnastics business, or youth sports related activities, and possess outstanding customer service and sales experience. A proven energetic leadership background – particularly focused on leading people to success. A child development background or similar experience is a major bonus.
Training/Education: AA or undergraduate degree in related field, Leadership training, Management Training, CPR (w/AED), First Aid, Safety Certification, current USAG Instructor/Pro member, past attendance to educational conventions. Experience in management development, would be a plus.
Skills: Excellent teaching, communication, leadership, organizational, and sales skills. The right candidate must love working with all ages and want to advance these young superstars toward the competitive junior development teams.
Sample Duties: The right candidate will have leadership of the recreational gymnastics program at this location. They must possess excellent skills dealing with parents– and assigned staff. We will help them develop a strong understanding of the various teaching skill levels at CSC (preschool, recreation, team levels, & various basic dance disciplines) if these are not already understood. This position requires the leader to be “on the floor” coaching students and/or training staff regularly. Interviewing and further leadership/management development will be the a part of the responsibilities. The Gymnastics Coordinators will join in the leadership team of the site as they grow the participation at the location. They participate in employee reviews for their site and carry on the other responsibilities such as:
- Maintaining a professional energetic attitude and confident demeanor at all times.
- Leading/partnering with the “core team” – focused on assisting the growth of all programs.
- Attend meetings and leadership trainings when asked.
- Oversee facility area equipment maintenance & equipment planning/budgeting.
- Report participation numbers and other general data monthly or as required.
- Maintain and submit the facility class and program schedules and rotations.
- Develops appropriate lesson plans to be carried out within the defined preschool gymnastics area and by assigned staff members.
- Perform regular local community and school outreach
And other duties as assigned.
Pay and Benefits: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour. This position is intended to be a full-time hourly non-exempt role and includes medical, dental, life, PTO, and an opportunity for a 401K participation.
