Furniture Assembly

Salary Range: $16-$20 per hour, depending on experience

PURPOSE

As an Installer, you will partner with businesses to achieve successful transition in the workplace. This position is responsible for aligning with our vision to be the first “World Class Provider” of facility services and sharing it with others to the highest level of excellence daily. Additionally, you will provide valuable support services and functions to the installation team, ensuring customer satisfaction. These include unpacking, installation and moving of a wide variety of office furniture for clients located in our local market and surrounding areas. Acts as a team player and presents themselves in a professional manner. A fully qualified Installer has demonstrated and is highly skilled in installation techniques, works independently or with minimal supervision and coordinates small furniture/move related projects at the direction of others. This position is expected to work varied work hours, 40+ hours per week, but hours can vary depending on workload demands.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES

Installation Responsibilities—Unpacks, installs and moves a variety of commercial furniture according to customer expectations

• Demonstrates dependability by being on time, ready to work, regardless of the start time
• Routinely completes Standard Work daily toolbox talk and stretches
• Understands installation techniques of a variety of commercial furniture and installs according to specifications
• Consistently moves furniture in the safest manner to ensure no damage to the product or the building occurs
• Lays out and wall mounts a variety of furniture systems and other wall hung product
• Reads and understands blueprints, including dimensions and symbols
• Utilizes proper equipment to load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner
• Uses the correct tools for the job at hand to ensure a safe and clean work environment
• Cooperate in every aspect of the company's safety program and follow safe work practices
• Accepts, understands and responds positively to feedback from superiors
• Coordinates less complex projects such as service calls, truck unloads and basic installation projects (including demonstrating skills and techniques as well as end-user or customer contact)
• Accurately and effectively communicates project problems or status to Supervisor

Initiative—Demonstrates ability to work through active participation in daily responsibilities.

• Has tools ready and batteries charged at start of day
• Actively seeks additional tasks upon completion of those assigned to them and performs to expectations of job
• Volunteers to assists/cross-training in a positive manner with other Team Members

Paperwork—Adheres to necessary processes to ensure accurate records.

• Verifies own hours each day through ServiceTRAX – Approve My Time
• Notifies Supervisor to assist in documenting changes and damage during installation process
• Understands and accurately completes customer’s paperwork when appropriate

Employee/Customer Relations—Provides effective communication/service to others and ensures following appropriate policy/procedures as designated by company.

• Projects a positive and favorable appearance of himself/herself and of the company
• Conducts themselves professionally and acts appropriately always while on the job or in uniform

Qualifications – Education and Experience:

• HS Degree preferred
• Previous experience installing office furniture
• Previous experience working with small hand tools, preferred
• Previous experience reading blueprints, preferred
• Previous experience in a Customer Service or similar industry
