Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJOB TITLE: Pharmacokinetic (PK) Department Technician

REPORTS TO: PK Department Manager STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, this position performs laboratory processing, handling, and shipping procedures, equipment maintenance and inventory control within the Pharmacokinetic Department.

TYPE OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General guidance and direction of the Pharmacokinetic Department Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Processes, handles, ships and set up study samples per study specifications.
  1. Recognizes inconsistencies in collection tubes and times and take appropriate corrective action. Contacts Nurse immediately to have situation corrected before patient leaves the building.
  1. Performs and records daily / weekly maintenance of equipment.
  1. Performs administrative functions associated with the Pharmacokinetic Department, to include but not limited to work tally records, scanning internal and study specific forms, filing, and sample log in and out.
  1. Completion of study forms to include but not limited to shipping logs, sample requisition forms, case report forms.
  1. Responsible for study specific and departmental inventory control and re-supply of reagents and supplies. Replenishes lab supplies on a daily basis.
  1. Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly sanitation of lab and lab equipment.
  1. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: Career or Educational training in Laboratory Assistant setting. On the job training will suffice in the place of education requirements. Certification not required. Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degrees in the Sciences.
