Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office. Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. Bachelors Degree preferred.
Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Scholarship Coordinator in all aspects of the program including; direct contact with students, committee members and parents. Assist with the overall maintenance of the database and other administrative aspects of Jewish Scholarship Service (JSS). Sensitivity to special needs of a multi-cultural client population.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Together with the Scholarship Coordinator, prepare the Annual Report, application materials, publicity materials, award letters, narratives, and other necessary materials.
- Assist with database management and report design.
- Assist with coordination of the application procedures. Answer questions of students and parents by phone or email.
- Conduct interviews if the Scholarship Coordinator is unavailable.
- Assist in proofreading application information and sending for/tracking missing information and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist in proofing the summary sheets for the JSS allocation meeting.
- Assist in preparation for meetings (Financial Committee, etc.).
- Assist in check distribution.
- Serves as Coordinator in Coordinator’s absence
- Coordinate and distribute checks after decisions have been made.
- Keep and distribute minutes and records of all meetings.
- Other Duties as assigned.
