Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team in the agriculture industry. This role is responsible for managing all financial aspects of our farming operations, including day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll processing, tax preparation, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities of the Full Charge Bookkeeper:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Handle all aspects of payroll, including timekeeping, employee deductions, and payroll tax reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Track and analyze costs associated with agricultural production, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead, to ensure accurate cost allocation.
  • Oversee inventory tracking and management, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation of inventory levels.
  • Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring all financial documentation is accurate and readily available.
  • Collaborate with the farm management team to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.


Qualifications for the Full Charge Bookkeeper:

  • Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years in the agriculture industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with farm management software is advantageous.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and provide recommendations to management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
