We are looking for a motivated RCIS who provides knowledge and skills of invasive cardiovascular technology utilized in the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Lab. The Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) assists physicians with adult patients during diagnostic catheterizations, PCI, pacemaker and ICD implantations, cardiac ablations, electrophysiology studies, tilt testing, and other invasive cardiac procedures. The position requires Interpretive skills, frequent interactive and consultative associations, along with supervisory skills are inherent in the position. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory, or visual fashion is essential. The primary method to express or exchange ideas is through the spoken word. Written, telephone and manual dexterity skills are required for this position. The RCIS provides patient care in the pre, intra, and immediate post phases of a Cath Lab procedure under the direction of a Physician. The RCIS provides ancillary support to patient care areas which include sheath removal and intra-aortic balloon removal from patients. The RCIS is involved in educating and precepting staff members.

 

Qualifications

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) by CCI required.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification required. 
  • American Heart Association ACLS Certification required.
  • Graduate of an Accredited Health Program or Equivalent Experience preferred. 
  • One year of Invasive Cardiovascular Medicine experience preferred. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with patient and healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and/or evaluate patient’s plan of care.
  • Maintains a collaborative relationship among healthcare team by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
  • Assists physician, patient, and peers in scrub role according to Cath Lab's Role of the Scrub Assistant procedure for pre-, intra- and post procedure.
  • Assists physician, patient, and peers in monitoring role according to Cath Lab's Role of the Monitor Assistant procedure.
  • Accurately sets-up imaging system with patient's name and identification.
  • Follows standard precautions and infection control procedures at all times.
  • Consistently ensures room is set up for daily procedures.
