Utah Community Action in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking to hire an EHS Teacher for our Early Head Start preschool The typical schedule is 7:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position works 40 hours a week, year-round.

***A Child Development Associate certificate (CDA) in Infant/Toddler or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

Our EHS Teacher earns a competitive wage of $20.89/hour. We also offer generous benefits, including health, dental, vision, a flexible spending account (FSA), a healthcare savings account (HSA) with up to a $2,500 match, a 401k plan with 5% match, short and long-term disability, accident insurance, life insurance, tuition reimbursement (conditions apply), 11 paid holidays, paid time off between Christmas and New Year's, accrue guilt free PTO up to 24 days a year, and an hour of paid time on Fridays for self-care/mental health. Potential for FCDL student loan forgiveness after 120 eligible payments.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN INFANT/TODDLER TEACHER

The Early Head Start (EHS) Teacher works cooperatively as a member of a classroom team to deliver high-quality services for all children and families and is responsible for the safety, supervision, and activities of the children birth to 3 years of age assigned under their care in the program.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Responsible for the safety, supervision, and activities of children birth to 3 years of age.
  • Relate with children positively.
  • Accept responsibility for children under their care.
  • Ability to coordinate and assign classroom workloads.
  • Knowledge of the internet, e-mail, various word processing, and spreadsheet software.
