Job Description:

Swift Straw is looking for a Housekeeping Associate to join our team in Jasper, FL. This person will have a great attitude and a passion for ensuring our manufacturing floor is clean at all times. This is an hourly position with an upside potential to learn other parts of the business. The ability to learn and grow starts with this position.

As a Housekeeping Associate, you will be expected to clean the floors from all debris for all manufacturing lines. Tools needed/provided will be a pitchfork, shovel, rake, and broom. The ability to stand and lift continuously throughout the shift is mandatory. This position can make or break our operations so dependability, good attendance, and showing up to work on time are extremely important in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • This person will report to the shift manager
  • Use the tools provided to keep the floor clean.
  • Work with leadership on needs for the day/shift
  • Basic understanding of machine operation.
  • Understand safety procedures and protocols in the facility and follow them without exception daily.
  • Associate must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.
  • This role will require you to be constantly on the move for an 8-10-hour shift.
  • Cleaning high and low spaces in a distribution center or warehouse environment

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or recipient of GED
  • Experience working around heavy machinery and moving equipment
  • Forklift experience a plus but not required
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in time-sensitive situations.
  • Possess problem-solving skills with high attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, read/comprehend detailed instructions, and process information with accuracy and clarity.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work Overtime when posted and needed
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
