Minimum Qualifications is any of the following:

Education: High School diploma, completion of civilian or military radar electronics system course. Three years’ experience in phased array radar maintenance is recommended.

Licenses or Certifications: NONE

I. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

The Radar Maintenance Technician maintains, repairs, and calibrates all mission radar equipment. Analyzes systems data, provides recommendations to resolve radar system degradation and failures. Operates the Maintenance Monitor Console Operator (MMCO) and immediately informs Sector Operations Center – Beale (SOC-B) Crew Commander/Crew Chief of any failures, degradation, or system status change. Initiates recall actions for Communications-Electronics equipment, as directed, and obtain approval of any equipment removal. Will be knowledgeable with Computer Operations tasks and recovery procedures.

II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Reports system anomalies immediately to lead and Communications-Electronics Manager; effects restorable actions and reports equipment status.

2. Meet all SOC-B requirements, and responds to all site reporting requirements.

3. Ensures all radar equipment is optimally configured.

4. Ensures all radar equipment is optimally configured, reports electromagnetic interference and immediately responds, directs and supports all emergency action requirements.

5. Report Electronic Magnetic Interference and immediately respond and supports all emergency action requirements.

6. Provides maintenance repair support for equipment associated with radar maintenance program.

7. Inspects, aligns, and calibrates digital and analog equipment to achieve maximum operating efficiency.

8. Maintain records, logs, and files.

9. Perform computer operator tasks as required.

10. Performs other duties as required.

Works under the general supervision of the work center lead and Communication Electronics Manager.

IV. WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

A. Physical Tasks

Exerts limited physical energy. May have to handle 20-30 pound loads on occasion.

B. Working Conditions

Computing center environment. May work extended hours or weekends. May travel overnight or on weekends.

C. Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
  • Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance.
