Job summary:

The Housekeeper is committed in ensuring that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner, serving the residents to our fullest capacity while enhancing an independent lifestyle throughout all levels of care.


Job duties:

  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
  • Empty and sanitize trash cans where appropriate.
  • Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreation areas, etc., daily or as instructed.
  • Clean, sanitize/disinfect, and polish bathroom fixtures.
  • Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreation areas, bathrooms and entrance/exit ways daily or as assigned.
  • Clean floors to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, disinfecting, in addition to cleaning carpets by vacuuming, spot cleaning, deodorizing, extracting, and dry cleaning.
  • Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, etc.
  • Remove dirt, dust, grime, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
  • Clean hallways, stairs, and elevators as assigned.
  • Discard waste/trash into proper receptacles, and re-line trash basket with correct sized liner
  • Clean vacant rooms as assigned. (Daily in HC / weekly in other areas)
  • Perform terminal cleaning procedures, as instructed, when a resident is discharged, and/or transferred to another room/area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Requirements:
  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of two years of high school.
  • Ability to work in a health care and Continuing Care Retirement Community environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment/supplies a minimum of fifty (50) pounds throughout the work day.
  • Ability to bend, turn, reach over head and below knees throughout work day.
  • Ability to stand and walk 80% of the work day.
  • Ability to see and hear or use prosthetics adequately so that the tasks of this position can be fully met, to include the use of supplies and equipment.
