At The Arc Wayne of Newark, NY, we are currently hiring an engaging and organized full-time Mental Health Associate to support adults and children with behavioral health needs in obtaining and/or maintaining their highest functional role in society through vocational, social, and emotional support and interventions.

Mental Health Associate Responsibilities

  • Engages with program participants directly within their community based settings (including home, work, or school)
  • Gathers information about parti related to their interests, skills, experience, needs and current supports
  • Creates and implements treatment plans for participants
  • Completes service authorizations for participants
  • Submits progress notes after each visit with participant
  • Encourages and assists program participants in achieving their goals

Work Schedule: 40 hours, flexible schedule to include weekend availability

Mental Health Associate Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age and have High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Children's mental health, addiction, foster care, and/or a related human services field

or

  • 1-3 Years of relevant working experience working with individuals with Substance Abuse Disorders or Serious Mental Health

or

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or in related human services field.

  • Must possess a current, valid NYS driver's license that meets Agency Driver Standards.
