Perricone Farms, a leading citrus juice supplier located in Beaumont, CA, is seeking a Wastewater / Utilities Technician to join our team. This is fast-paced position which offers long-term, consistent employment with a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to Health, Vision, Dental, Life and 401K.
Pay Rate: $20 - 25 per hour
Shift / Hours: 1st Shift @ 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; possible weekend work (If needed))
Requirements:As a Wastewater / Utilities Technician, you will be responsible for providing support to all departments by monitoring of plant wastewater and utilities systems:
- Ensures that pumps, screens, blowers, and other wastewater treatment equipment are functioning within centerlines and plant is compliant with discharge guidelines.
- Operate wastewater treatment systems to meet permit requirements and monitor plant utility systems to ensure uptime.
- Collect and test wastewater samples and analyze to make necessary process adjustments.
- Inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to ensure performance and detect malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot process, instrumentation, data, and mechanical problems.
- Maintain, repair, calibrate and lubricate equipment using hand and power tools.
- Investigates wastewater overflow incidents and collect data to prepare reports
- Operate & adjust valves and monitor chemical addition to maintain system performance.
- Understand Industrial Wastewater Permit and comply with the standards set forth in the permit.
- Accurately maintain operating logs and records related to wastewater processing. Log all operational data and produce reports as needed.
- Respond to any related emergencies.
- Clean and maintain tanks, utility systems and work areas to comply with personnel and food safety needs.
- Must be able to keep track of inventory and place order requisitions for supplies
Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
- Conduct all verification activities to assure finished product comply with food safety and quality specifications.
- Participates in the yearly review of the food safety system.
- Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system.
- Responsible for Non-GMO SGS Supply Chain Standards.
Organizational Relationships:
- Position reports to Maintenance Manager
- Direct reports: None.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; or 5 years of work experience showing strong performance and career progression. Additional coursework or training in wastewater treatment, chemistry, mathematics, or environmental studies is a plus.
- Able to perform basic math / calculations and logic to solve problems and use system data to make process adjustments to maintain system performance.
- Have effective interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail required.
- Able to work independently and exercise initiative to accomplish short- and long-term responsibilities.
- Knowledge Word, Outlook, Excel, and ability to acquire skills on job specific applications and control software.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding wastewater discharge and pretreatment are a plus.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. Spanish is a plus.
