DMC Facility Services is a fast-paced, family-owned company, seeking an Estimating Associate to join our team. Candidates must be career-minded, have construction/estimating knowledge, be customer service oriented, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and understand and translate customer needs and wants throughout the company.

The role of the Estimating Associate is to assist the Estimating Department with gathering the necessary information to properly complete timely cost estimates. This includes but is not limited to performing site surveys to assess potential projects, perform quality control checks on recently completed projects, meet contractors on site to review potential projects or recently completed projects, walkthrough job sites with customers to gain an understanding of potential scope of work, perform base-level estimates to help expedite cost estimates for customers, and work in conjunction with the Operations Team to ensure all of the information has been properly obtained.

Duties and Expectations:

  • Perform site surveys for potential projects. This includes utilizing existing forms and practices to obtain all the information that is pertinent to a specific project;

  • Walkthrough job sites with customers to gain an understanding of the scope of work for a potential project;

  • Travel to in-progress and recently completed projects to ensure that workmanship meets DMC quality standards;

  • Communicate any project quality issues and collaborate to put together an action plan to immediately correct any quality issues;

  • Compile a cost estimate of an entire project by utilizing all gathered information during site surveys;

  • Partner with Estimating and Operations to ensure all the necessary materials, labor, and equipment are accounted for;

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of construction experience or a degree based in construction/engineering;

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;

  • Working knowledge of drafting programs (CAD, Sketch-Up, etc.);

  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills;

  • Working knowledge of computer programs and software; advanced MS Office, Google applications, and Excel skills.
