What the Role Offers - Quality Control Analyst - Biochemistry


As a Quality Control Analyst, you will plan, execute, and document protocols following high scientific standards. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively within the biochemistry team, conducting wet chemistry and biological routine tests (such as SDS PAGE, western blot, and ELISA). Additionally, you’ll assist with assay qualifications, generate Standard Operating Procedures, conduct equipment calibrations, and present results to the team. Training new laboratory personnel and other responsibilities assigned by the Team Lead are also part of this role.


What You Need to Succeed


  • Plan, organize, and execute protocols, according to high scientific standards, under minimal supervision following GLP and cGMP guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of the biochemistry team to perform all duties assigned.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebook and documentation according to regulatory guidelines.
  • Effectively understands the meaning of biochemical assay results and be able to relay them to other team members to troubleshoot any problems encountered.
  • Perform a variety of wet chemistry and biological routine tests for in process, finished product (SDS PAGE, western blot, ELISA based assays) stability samples and any other additional samples as required.
  • Experience with basic lab equipment (Spectrophotometer, pH meters, balances, pipettes, etc), proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Assists in performing assay qualifications and provide results according to a timeline.
  • Generate and review Standard Operating Procedures for assays and qualifications associated with timelines. ICH, WHO and USP guidelines and methodologies will be used as the basis for all assay qualifications.
  • Conducts equipment calibrations and laboratory investigations, as needed.
  • Periodically present results and summarize progress to team members.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks to meet goals and drive projects to completion according to timelines.
  • Assist in training new laboratory personnel on proper laboratory techniques and current protocols.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the Team Lead.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, Chemistry/Biochemistry.


Physical Demands:


  • Must be present on site for all related responsibilities and be able to routinely perform activities as defined above.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to dress in sterile gowning in the form of scrubs and clean room coveralls.
  • Ability to handle and work with potentially hazardous chemicals per standard operating procedure.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail
  • Must maintain a high level of alertness and acuity for analytical review and processing of documentation, daily.
  • Able to work independently with changing priorities.


Working Conditions:


  • Extended periods of time on the computer.

  • Working in a warm environment wearing sterile gowning.
  • Working with chemicals per standard operating procedure.


Estimated Base Salary: $29.00 - $34.00 / hourly DOE
