The Rehabl Technician will assist with the renovation and repair of short to long-term remodel projects. The role will be responsible for performing various tasks related to home rehabilitation including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, floor installation, and general repairs. The Rehab Technician will inspect homes to identify repair needs and develop a comprehensive plan for rehabilitation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect the property, develop a rehabilitation plan, and complete carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, floor, and other work to restore the property.
  • Collaborate with homeowners, contractors, and other team members to determine project requirements and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when completing sheet rock, painting, and other hazardous projects.
  • Follow OSHA, ADA, and Fair Housing procedures and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Respond to after-hours/emergency calls on a scheduled rotation.
  • Identify procedural improvements, make suggestions, and assist in implementing changes.
  • Track and report daily/weekly/monthly numbers for the company scorecard.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Operate a variety of hand/power tools and special equipment to make repairs.
  • Procure all necessary materials and supplies to complete rehab projects.
  • Move and carry tools and equipment to and from storage and working areas.
  • Keep work area, tools, and equipment clean.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Based on the essential duties listed above, this position is considered safety-sensitive and therefore all work must be performed following quality standards and established safety procedures.

EDUCATION & RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • One (1) year of experience in maintenance, remodeling, or construction is preferred.
  • Proficiency in repairing plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, floor covering, carpentry, locks, appliances.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license and reliable transportation is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the basic practices, methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and building code regulations.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to work and perform in a fast-paced, growing environment with little supervision.
  • Ability to relate to all types of people and levels in and outside the organization.
  • Roll up your sleeves attitude to achieve desired results.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple jobs at the same time.
  • Ability to utilize an iPad, Microsoft Suite, and Rent Manager.
