Position Summary:

The Host/Hostess welcomes and warmly greets guests on arrival. Manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table that best serves their wishes. Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests.

Major Responsibilities & Work Activities:

• Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
• When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.
• Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
• Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
• Upon seating, offer guests a menu and wine list. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
• Relay messages to servers and server assistants as needed.
• Record guests' names on the guest recognition sheet.
• Thank guests as they are leaving.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by manager or immediate supervisor.

Education and/or experience: Prior experience at casual dining or other hospitality experience. High school graduate.

Language skills: Fluent in English. Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.

Reasoning ability: Ability to solve problems and use independent judgment

• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Hearing requirements: constant need to communicate in person and over the phone.
• Ability to go up/downstairs.
• Ability to work under cool/hot weather temperatures.

Education, Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Ability to become TIPS certified / Food Handler
