Financial Controller

Overview

10X Recruiting Partners is respresenting our client in the search for a Financial Controller. The Financial Controller will direct all aspects of the Company’s accounting, financial and risk management operations. This role requires timely and accurate general ledger accounting, maintenance of accounting records, implementation of comprehensive accounting processes and controls, and regular financial reporting (e.g., preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements) in compliance with GAAP. The Controller will also contribute to the Company’s financial success through leadership in the areas of forecasting, planning, budgeting, financial analysis, billing, collections, payables, payroll and cash management.

Financial reporting:

  • Manage monthly and annual closes ensuring that they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare regular financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
  • Provides status of financial condition of the company by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data.
  • Take ownership of the Company’s annual outside financial review process.
  • Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns. Provide financial information as needed for outside accountants to complete tax returns.
  • Manage payroll processing.
  • Lead the development of yearly budgets and forecasts; seek input and guidance from the management team.
  • Evaluate and manage the financial risks associated with our business operations.
  • Handle all aspects of the company’s insurance coverage.
  • Handle all aspects of employee insurance, benefits and casualty programs, including monitoring changes in health insurance regulations and creating budgets for benefits and worker’s compensation.
  • Administer the Company’s 401(k) plan including coordinating investment and enrollment with third parties.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance and non-organizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities.

Supervise Staff Accountants.

Education and Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Accounting or finance related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge and Skills

  • A self-starter, natural leader, team player and strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Knowledge of GAAP.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and efficient with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal capabilities; highly professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to distill financial information into actionable insights for the management team and Board.
  • Ability to understand new technologies and concepts.
  • Ability to juggle and successfully prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
