Overview:
Typically, an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages deliverables assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May own a project and collaborate closely to make decisions with colleagues or may direct the work of other lower-level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the individual deliverables assigned from drafting to execution - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education. May include leading smaller projects in support of Contracts from the design stage of the project to implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize customer service skills: clear and persuasive communication, time management, adaptability, patience, effective listening.
  • Analyze Fair Market Value (FMV) for budget development, negotiation, and documentation.
  • Liaise with clinical teams, legal, reimbursement, and other functional groups on clinical agreements and informed consents as appropriate.
  • Prepare and analyze outsourcing proposals, contract drafting, negotiation, contract administration, and supplier contact activities to ensure proper outsourcing contract execution and fulfillment.
  • Track progress of contract activities, provide status updates to internal/external parties, compile/analyze contract data, and maintain historical contract information.
  • Understand and apply clinical trial industry practices, including clinical trial agreements, budgeting processes, and/or vendor/consulting agreements.
  • Manage moderately complex contract negotiations with guidance from senior-level professionals. Escalate negotiations from email to telephone and higher methods to effectively progress contract negotiations while managing cycle times. Involve other internal parties in negotiations as needed, including the manager.
  • Use critical thinking skills to review contract redlines for understanding and intent. Make recommendations regarding how to proceed and secure additional input from legal, manager, and/or clinical team as needed before responding to other parties.
  • May serve as a project leader for smaller, new, or existing studies (with manager and senior-level professional review/input).
  • Frequently interact and communicate with internal customers/clients, including senior management, and external other parties.
  • Administer, extend, negotiate, and terminate standard and nonstandard contracts.
  • Examine estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience supporting clinical research or similar experience in a medical/scientific area
  • Good Clinical Practices (GCP) background
  • Clinical and/or vendor agreement and management experience

Education Required:

  • Prepares bids, processes specifications, progress, and other reports; advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data, and maintains historical information.
