Position: Security Coordinator

Primary Objective:

Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the company’s property, customers, and personnel; investigate and report suspicious activity; upholding the establishment’s policies and safety protocols; the weighing of incoming/outgoing loads via inbound/outbound scale(s); directing drivers to the appropriate areas for loading/unloading; completing all required documentation. The position will also be responsible for performing basic office/front gate tasks.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify Bill of Lading for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Count and notate number of items on shipment.
  • Operate scale to effectively weigh all inbound and outbound trucks.
  • Ensure all weigh ticket’s weights are within allowed tolerance.
  • Ensure compliance with Inventory Control and Financial audits by properly weighing material and accurately completing paperwork.
  • Review, inspect, and document inbound loads.
  • Direct drivers to the proper yard location for loading/unloading.
  • Complete all required documentation for vehicles and loads entering or leaving the yard.
  • Participate in the testing of scales for accuracy and report any malfunctions or concerns to the EHS Manager.
  • Perform general front gate duties.
  • Monitor property entrance/gate.
  • Authorize entrance of people and vehicles.
  • Report any suspicious behaviors/observations and submit incident reports.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras.
  • Respond to alarms and react in a timely manner.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· 2+ years’ experience as a security officer or similar role preferred

· 2+ years’ operating truck scales preferred

· Ability to obtain a Weighmaster’s License

· Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.

Skills:

· Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills (both verbal and written).

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, good organizational and mathematical skills, and the ability to multi-task.

· Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn company specific software.

Physical Demands:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.

· Light to moderate lifting may be required at times.
