Position Summary:

Columbine Country Club is searching for Youth Leaders and Summer Day Camp Counselors. Candidates must be attentive, motivated, and excited about working with children. There are full and part-time positions available starting immediately, and seasonal positions starting in May running through August.

Our Youth Leaders and Summer Day Camp Counselors are warm, friendly individuals and very good with children of all ages. Youth Leaders and Summer Day Camp Counselors are responsible for assisting, planning, and implementing the delivery of Columbine Country Club’s Youth Program. They are committed to providing new opportunities for children’s growth, enrichment, and success, and are committed to not only helping our youth members but also our member families as a whole.

Our youth staff must always exhibit the core values of empathy, integrity, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of their work with Columbine Country Club. All Youth Leaders and Summer Day Camp Counselors are responsible for adhering to policies and procedures of Columbine Country Club.

Youth Leaders and Summer Day Camp Counselors are responsible for: administering attendance; running and planning group activities and games with youth; teach youth social and problem solving skills; assist in culminating group projects, productions, run transitions to and from outside structured activities; participate in and supervise off-campus field trips and any other responsibilities delegated by the Youth Director and ensure that the programs meet The Colorado Department of Human Service’s expectations. They recognize the importance of their role, view no task as insignificant and take pride in providing outstanding service and contributing to the success of their team and the Club as a whole.


Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School diploma, college degree or college studies preferred.
  • Motivation, timeliness, and attentiveness are absolutely essential.
  • CPR/Red Cross/AED Current Certification preferred.
  • Youth Leaders must possess the capacity to determine individual needs and physical capabilities of children, to include likes and dislike.
  • Computer literate and proficient
  • Exhibit self-motivation skills,
  • Ability to operate in a busy environment, while managing children
  • Ability to think critically, act critically, and problem solve
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Develop and lead varied, multi-subject activities for youth that are enriching and age-appropriate (e.g., arts, education, STEM, community engagement, physical education, etc.)
  • Assist participants with homework and teach skills that will aid them in the completion of school work
  • Provide supervisory care for a group of 5-15 kids during group activities
  • Be able to identify when one-on-one care is needed, and deliver it efficiently and positively
  • Ensure safety of all participants during structured and unstructured time
  • Assist with preparation of snacks and other program functions. (e.g., clean-up, meal time, transitions, etc.)
  • Provide positive role-modeling, reinforcement and behavior modification when necessary
  • Remain calm and controlled in stressful situations
  • Guide children to develop appropriate social skills with peers and adults.
