Position Summary:

  • Responsible for providing respectful and inclusive leadership to Ancillary departments of KVC Hospitals, including but not limited to Maintenance and Kitchen. Oversees the budget, planning, and maintenance of facilities, equipment, vehicles, and grounds. Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly. Provides oversight and coordinates all facility’s inspections in accordance with federal, state, and local laws as well as applicable licensing and accrediting bodies (KDADS, TJC, COA, DFC, OSHA).

Location:

  • Olathe, KS

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED with technical training in facilities management, plant engineering/plant maintenance or related field.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Construction Science or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Two to five years of experience in a facility maintenance field, preferably in a healthcare environment. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook email, as well as mobile applications.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Valid Auto Insurance
  • Valid Drivers License
  • At least 21 years old
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide inclusive leadership for Ancillary departments, ensuring respect for all employees.
  • Interview, hire, train, and manage departmental staff; assign work and evaluate performance.
  • Plan and oversee facility modifications and construction projects.
  • Manage work orders in company's database, ensuring timely updates.
  • Coordinate facility and unit supply ordering, maintaining purchasing records.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules for equipment, utilities, and HVAC systems.
  • Serve on Safety Management Committees, overseeing fire safety and environment of care.
  • Ensure adherence to Emergency Operations Response Plans and regulatory drills.
  • Manage vehicle fleet inventory, maintenance, and operations.
  • Supervise contracted services like Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Food Services.
  • Oversee Cafeteria/Kitchen operations and procurement where applicable.
  • Manage security access control, including keys and swipe cards.
  • Collaborate with property management firms and contractors as necessary.
  • Available for on-call duty to coordinate emergency repairs as needed.
