We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to join our team. As a Pharmacist in Charge, you will oversee the pharmacy's operations, continuously assess challenges, and initiate new programs to improve departmental performance. Medix Infusion is a growing specialty pharmacy and infusion company, playing a vital role in the recovery process for chronic, critically ill, and medically complex patients requiring extended acute care.


Medix Infusion is a technology-driven healthcare platform enhancing patient care and access to infusion therapies, specializing in disease management and infusion pharmacy services for chronic and acutely ill patients, especially in underserved communities. We offer personalized home and in-suite infusion therapies, ensuring convenience and comfort. Our expert team provides a comprehensive range of treatments, including anti-infectives, biologics, IVIG, and other injectables, making each patient’s journey as smooth as possible.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to patient care quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the purchase and inventory maintenance of all pharmaceuticals and related supplies.
  • Participate in departmental planning, revenue analysis, budgeting, education, and human resource management.
  • Advise the Executive Team, clinical staff, and department managers on quality, regulatory, and risk issues within the Pharmacy department.
  • Engage in all regulatory body surveys and ensure compliance with their standards.
  • Serve as a consultant to clinical staff and employees on pharmaceutical-related issues.
  • Review and analyze records to identify prescribing trends and address excessive usage.
  • Ensure pharmacy staff have the necessary skills and equipment to provide appropriate pharmaceutical care.
  • Ensure the department's commitment to patient care, including prompt, accurate, and courteous responses to physician, nursing, and patient requests.
  • Coordinate drug recalls from manufacturers and maintain a process for the control of outdated medications.
  • Coordinate clinical pharmacy services, including answering drug information requests, monitoring drug therapy, preventing drug interactions, educating patients, conducting medication reconciliation, and contributing to staff education.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy is required from an accredited college of pharmacy, Master’s and PharmD preferred.
  • Current TX Pharmacist license.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing Pharmacist & Techs.
  • Infusion and Specialty Pharmacy experience required.
  • Knowledge of CPR+ preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, CMS and state guidelines.
  • Experience in writing policies and procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk, and hear. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, and reading. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors, and staff.
