POSITION SUMMARY:
Apprentice must be able to perform oil changes, vehicle inspections, maintenance and installations efficiently, safely and according to manufacturer quality and time standards. Complies with manufacturer and dealership’s safety and environmental programs and practices.
Works closely with assigned certified technician for training to obtain manufactures certifications.
BEHAVIOR STANDARD:

Attendance is an essential job function for this position.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured under Fremont’s insurance plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Partners with certified technician and performs repairs as described by trainer.
Perform Fremont 40 point courtesy/ safety inspection, fill form out completely and notify advisor on any needed repairs. Parts availability and pricing is required before presenting advisor with required repairs and completed within the promised time. Notify advisor on all delays that you may experience on R.O’s.
Road test vehicles after work is completed to ensure repairs are performed properly.
Perform the work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy and in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Document all work performed and recommended repairs on the repair order. Include the 3 C’s on all repair orders; Complaint, Cause, Correction.
Maintains sufficient personally owned tools, keeps tools in good working order.
Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
Punch time clock on all repair orders, customer pay, warranty and pre-delivery in/ out times.
Perform pre-delivery vehicle inspections per manufacturer guidelines.
Enroll in manufacture sponsored training programs to obtain proper certification levels as required by manufacturer.
Keep abreast of manufacture technical bulletins.
Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
Ensure that customer’s vehicles are kept clean. Notify service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
Keep your bay neat and clean upon completion of prior repairs.
Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
Understand, keep abreast of and comply with federal, state, and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Report any safety issues immediately to management.
Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing, walking and sitting are regularly required. Stooping, squatting, twisting, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, and crawling may be requirements of this position. Utilizing physical and manual dexterity will be necessary. Ordinary conversational talking and hearing are required constantly. Other talking and hearing are required frequently for telephone calls, intercom and beeper calls, and monitoring equipment. Seeing requiring near and far acuity, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception is required frequently in greeting customers, reading documentation and data processing. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work location is mostly indoors but moving vehicles in and out of the dealership will be required. Noise ranges from moderate level to periods of exposure to high noise levels from equipment and vehicles being stared and moved. Mechanical and Electrical Hazards are present from departmental equipment. Safety equipment will be required at times.
