Position Title: Primary Therapist


Reports to: Clinical Director


JOB DESCRIPTION


The therapist fulfills direct service, including individual, couple/family and group psychotherapy, consultations, and crisis intervention.


Competencies:

  • Proficient in computer based EMR
  • Knowledge in CBT and DBT
  • Group presentation skills
  • Assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Science as an LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LMFT - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, AMFT - Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, as a licensed Psychologist.
  • Minimum of two years experience in evaluating and/or treating persons suffering from mental illness and/or substance abuse. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must provide and maintain a current record of TB testing
  • Must provide and maintain a current record of CPR and First Aid training and testing


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of drug and alcohol dependency, mental health, family systems and 12 step/recovery resources in the community.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation as required.
  • Conduct assessments of residents at the time of admission and re-assessments as required.
  • Conduct mental status examinations.
  • Provide appropriate diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on a review of the resident’[s history, signs, and symptoms.
  • Provide individual, couple/family, and group psychotherapy as needed.
  • Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of residents and staff.
  • Crises intervention services, including 5150 determinations.
  • Treatment Planning.
  • Participation in Case Conference Reviews.
  • Provide Utilizations Reviews as requested.
  • Knowledge of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries, and relate issues.
  • Provide in-service training to staff and/or trainee on mental health topics as needed.
  • Knowledge of the philosophy and approach of the 12-step model of recovery (AA, CA,NA,Alanon).
