Diesel Mechanic - Miami, Florida

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to join our team at a heavy equipment company located in Miami, Florida. As a diesel mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines and heavy equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and safe for operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engine and heavy equipment issues
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups
  • Repair or replace defective parts, such as transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
  • Use diagnostic tools, such as computerized diagnostic equipment, to identify issues
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
  • Adhere to safety protocols and standards at all times
  • Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to ensure equipment is repaired and maintained in a timely manner
  • Follow all company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical school degree or certification in diesel mechanics strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
  • Must have own tools
