The Piasecki Aircraft Corporation Engineering Department is seeking an experienced and management-focused engineering leader to serve as Deputy Chief Engineer. This individual would be a highly experienced and creative aerospace project manager and engineer with extensive knowledge of engineering design methods, multidisciplinary integration, and optimization. This role requires a proven ability to facilitate cross-functional engineering efforts with aggressive cost and schedule targets while assisting the Chief Engineer in delivering integrated, optimized vehicle designs that meet or exceed customer requirements.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Functions as the administrative coordinator for PiAC’s engineering department; assigning projects and tasks, prioritizing work in accordance with project schedules, and managing overall engineering department work output
  • Serves as a technical point-of-contact for engineering issues related to costs, schedules, risks, and opportunities
  • Works with the Chief Engineer and Program Managers to ensure that technical issues are understood, addressed, and resolved
  • Interfaces with PMs, engineering functional leads, and customers regularly to manage departmental priorities
  • Compiles cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals in compliance with company policies and government regulations
  • Ensures that engineering personnel are following approved processes and procedures
  • Partners with Human Resources and other departments or executives as necessary to ensure proper staffing to successfully execute programs and projects within cost and schedule requirements
  • Works closely with Program Management and Procurement to ensure supplier quotes comply with requirements
  • Summarizes and presents detailed information in internal management reviews and customer fact-finding meetings
  • Work to influence others regarding PiAC engineering practices, concepts, and processes


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 or more years’ experience in aerospace design, testing and certification (required)
  • Experience with Mechanical, Electrical and Aerodynamic Design & Analysis (required)
  • Experience in execution and management using performance outcomes and metrics
  • Experience in mentorship, providing guidance, direction, and holding individuals accountable for deliverables
  • Experience managing a large project, program, or team comprised of experienced professionals to develop new products, processes, standards or operational plans
  • Excellent writing and communication skills (required)
