Avanti is a manufacturer of non-woven fabrics in the field of medical, hygiene, industrial and agricultural products. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer for Full-Time hire.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist to design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacture of electrical equipment or systems.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Perform calculations and perform system studies to establish manufacturing standards or specifications.
  • Develop detailed electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with and consult other Engineers and Designers to engineer, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve technical and other issues.
  • Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment.
  • Investigate customer or public complaints to determine the nature and extent of problems.
  • Compile data and write reports about existing and new electrical engineering projects.
  • Identify problems and discover solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Key Performance Indicators for Successful Candidate:

  • Uptime hours of machinery in the plant
  • Time for diagnosis and resolution of technical difficulties faced in the plant
  • After hours availability for plant support if and when required
  • Successful plant improvement projects, planned, managed and implemented


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Some experience with Siemens, ABB programming or Robot programming required
  • Prior experience with Allen Bradley PLC, industrial DCS, industrial motors and drives preferred
  • Must have knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
  • Applicant must be self-driven and motivated in continuous improvement
  • Must be flexible with schedule and able to work evening/night shift hours
  • Must be willing and able to work hands-on on the plant floor
  • Must be able to work in a non climate-controlled or hot environment
