We are seeking a dependable local delivery truck driver with excellent customer service skills. As a part of our team, you will be responsible for driving company vehicles on a planned route to ensure deliveries are made on time. You will also assist in the loading and unloading of inbound and outbound trucks as needed. Previous warehouse and delivery experience are preferred. A Class A CDL and a clean driving record is required.
Work hours required:
- Monday through Friday 07:00 am 03:30 pm. Overtime as needed.
- Transport pallet goods and packages from a place of origin to assigned destination
- Ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent breakage or damage
- Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods from a truck at selected destinations
- Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries with clients
- Assist warehouse staff and customers with loading and unloading processes
- Have a strong base knowledge regarding our products
- Interact with local customers, answer questions and advise them on our products
- Emptying 48’ trailers at landfill via landfill tipper
- Shuttles between facilities
- Communicate traffic reports, delays, etc. to manager as needed
- Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the packing slip document
- Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
- Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean
- Maintain and service vehicles as needed (refuel, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)
- Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
- Maintain detailed driving, delivery, and trailer status logs
- Adhere to company rules and regulations
- Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions
- Comply with DOT regulations
- Make safety a priority at all times
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred
- Commercial driver’s license (CDL class A) required
- Clean driving record with no moving violations
- Must pass a background check and drug test
- Skilled and confident driver
- Comfortable maneuvering and parking a large vehicle
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
- Physically and mentally fit
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
- Experience using hand trucks and electric lifts
- Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
- An innate sense of direction
- Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong verbal communicator
- 2+ years of experience driving a commercial vehicle is preferred.
- 6+ months of forklift experience preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access all areas of the vehicle.
Work Environment:
This role requires someone to not only be good at following instructions but responsible and willing to hold themselves accountable. This is a team position, but requires some autonomy and willingness to complete tasks while facing ambiguity. Flexible to the changing environment and instances that may arise unexpectedly.
- High noise levels in certain parts of the plant
- High humidity and hot temperatures
- Required PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection)
- Steel or composite toe work boots required
- Reports to the first shift shipping manager
