Position Summary: Under the direction of the Food Program Manager the incumbent is responsible for the menu, inventory of food/supplies, and food orders for the Summer Food and Afterschool Programs. The incumbent would also manage the day to day operations of the on-site food pantry.
Supervision Exercised: May supervise 1 staff member.
Typical Physical Demands: Requires a full range of motion, including strong back, legs and arms for lifting (i.e., Helping unload trucks, etc.), requires good flexibility , stress can be high with scheduling demands, fast paced with high energy required. Employee must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Typical Working Conditions: Working at a computer for prolonged time, and standing to complete inventory counts, moving boxes, and putting up inventory.
Job Segments:
- Observes and promotes safe work practices and procedures.
- Follows all USDA, CACFP and SFSP required policies and procedures.
- Conducts inventory of the food in stock daily. Checks for expiration dates and use that that expires first.
- Submits food quantities needed per day, meals needed for the week and inventory on hand.
- Coordinates with Food Program Manager the appropriate quantity of food needed.
- Accurately completes and submits all required paperwork to branch staff.
- Communicates effectively with the Program Director and Food Program Manager keeping them informed of operational concerns and any changes based on food distributions.
- Develops and creates new food/feeding programs and food distribution opportunities.
- Ensures that the correct menu is being followed and updated menu is onsite.
- Ensure CACFP and SFSP attendance and records accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
- Manage daily operations of the on-site food pantry to include: managing inventory, completing required paperwork, and submitting paperwork/reports on time.
- Adheres to uniform and personal hygiene requirements.

- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or satisfactory completion of the GED.
- ServSafe preferred.
- Certifications required within 45 days of hire: CPR/AED, BBP, and First Aid
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively manage others.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with standard business software.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Position requires a clear criminal background check.

Expected Schedule:
During the School Year
Monday - Thursday: 3:00pm-4:30pm
Friday: 3:00pm-4:30pm AND 6:00pm-7:30pm
During the Summer
Monday - Thursday: 7:00am-2:00pm
Friday: 7:00am-2:00pm AND 6:00pm-7:30pm
During both seasons, occasional Saturdays may be required.
