Job Title: CDL Class A Transport Driver

Job Type: SEASONAL (Fall/Winter)


Beaudry Oil & Propane is currently looking for a CDL class A Driver for our Transport division. We are seeking a Qualified CDL Class A Driver. The truck driver will perform a variety of routine and complex transportation work, driving and coordinating transportation plans in support of the Transportation Department. This driver may operate a tractor with a tanker trailer to pick up products at the supply points and deliver them to area facilities.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Drive assigned Tractor/Tanker trailer to pick up propane/fuel and deliver to assigned facilities
  • Perform required daily vehicle inspections
  • Safety and efficient transfer of products between transport and bulk storage
  • Maintain DOT compliance
  • Performing routine inspection and preventive maintenance
  • Performing all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • A high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is preferred.
  • One (1) year relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job
  • Valid Class A State Driver’s License with HazMat and Tanker Endorsements
  • Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
  • Ability to safely drive various vehicles
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
  • Ability to make independent judgments that have moderate impacts on the organization



Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk. The employee must consistently lift and/or move 40–60-pounds, and occasionally, have to lift up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, or moderately loud when in the field.
