The Clinic Lab Tech is a service-oriented team player with primary patient contact that functions as a phlebotomist utilizing universal precautions. The duties of this position include specimen collection and processing, order entry to the laboratory computer, medical necessity verification, screening and managing phone calls, receiving and processing requisitions, and receiving and expediting specimens. This individual functions as an ECG technician with primary responsibility for electrocardiograph file maintenance. Additional responsibilities are in the category of laboratory support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy Certification
  • 1-2 years' experience desired, but not required.

Licensure and certifications:

  • BLS certification required.
  • Certification as a phlebotomist is desirable.
