Mathematics is part of the GE requirements for a few of our programs and is taught once or twice a year, depending on program frequency. 


The course is 6 weeks, synchronous/asynchronous, and scheduled between 8-12 PM PST. 

A minimum of 4 weekly office hours is required. Compensation $2500-2800 for the duration of the course


The upcoming course is scheduled for September 30, 2024, and February 10, 2025. 

Candidates in the PST zone are preferred. 





Job Summary

The position of Instructor is the foundation of the school. The education of our students is the responsibility of the instructor. The instructor is an effective classroom manager, adaptable to changing situations, and can relate to the students, other faculty, and administrative staff of the school. The instructor must believe in the school objectives and policies and must always be a "professional."


Classroom Management Accountabilities


  • Prepare and submit lesson plans as requested by the Program Director.
  • Prepare course materials, e.g., syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Provide each student with a copy of the course syllabus.
  • Copy and distribute classroom materials as needed.
  • Ensure that adequate books and other supplies are ready for class times.
  • Inform students during the first-class period of the course requirements regarding tests, assignments, attendance, and classroom procedures.
  • Inform students of the procedures for completing and submitting classwork.
  • Prepare and deliver lectures to students on relevant topics.
  • Teach in a professional manner, using clear and simple language.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
  • Prepare and/or proctor examinations.
  • Return assignments to students within established deadlines.
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, papers, and progress.
  • Maintain student grades per course. Review grades with student at a minimum of midway through each course and at the completion of course.
  • Maintain accurate grades and attendance records for each student.
  • Council students regarding attendance. Determine if the student is qualified to complete make-up hours and what their make-up assignment(s) will consist of.
  • Notify all students in writing when their grade is below a "C" (or other satisfactory grade) average.
  • Have all students complete the course/instructor evaluation at the end of each course and submit it to the Program Director.
  • Maintain classroom in good order.


General Instructor Accountabilities


  • Refer to the director those students not making adequate progress.
  • Evaluate and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction as needed.
  • Counsel and advise students on academic matters.
  • Schedule and maintain regular office hours to meet with students.
  • Attend all scheduled faculty and in-service training meetings.
  • Become familiar with all school policies, procedures, catalogs, and manuals.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Program Director.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching issues.


Professional Development Accountabilities


  • Continue with personal and professional growth; and provide documentation to the Director of Education.
  • Maintain compliance with annual continuing education as required by individual certifications and agreed upon during annual employee review.

  • Experience: 1-2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
