- Carefully observe and document any alleged injuries, noting physical appearance, demeanor, and any discrepancies in the claimant's description of injuries or events.
- Secure necessary claims releases, non-injury statements, and confirmation of treatment notices as part of the interview process when applicable.
- Evaluate the statements provided during the EUO to identify any inconsistencies, red flags, or indicators that might warrant further investigation by the SIU.
- Prepare and submit a detailed referral to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) when fraudulent activity or significant discrepancies are suspected. This includes a comprehensive summary of findings and supporting documentation.
- Request and review transcripts of the EUO, ensuring accuracy and completeness before they are submitted to the claims adjuster or legal teams.
- Accurately and promptly enter all interview notes, findings, and related documentation into the AS400 system, ensuring that the claims file is up to date and easily accessible for further review.
- Ensure the collection of detailed information regarding prior losses, medical history, workers' compensation injuries, and any attorney or clinic referrals. This includes probing for additional context or discrepancies related to these areas.
- Attend depositions as required, providing testimony or support regarding the EUO process, the findings, and any other relevant aspects of the claim.
