The Logistics Coordinator oversees the logistical aspects of shipping and receiving rail operations for the regional group. Responsible for coordinating rail shipments, preparing documentation, managing inventory, and communicating with carriers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of product. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks while adhering to quality and safety standards. The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in optimizing rail shipping processes, minimizing costs, and providing excellent customer service to support the organization's overall objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Researches and analyzes rail costs and classifications, delivery methods and delivery schedules to minimize delivery costs.
  • Support the region by controlling and tracking rail shipments.
  • Work with customer/EM terminal to ensure rail cars are unloaded and released in a timely manner.
  • Input of rail rate requests -Coordination with corporate logistics team to ensure rate requests are obtained and input in a timely manner.
  • Represent and communicate the regional needs during internal meetings with corporate logistics team.
  • Provide fleet management and scheduling of rail transportation for all plant managers within the region.
  • Will provide immediate support for all administrative duties related to the regional business functions of the Director of Operations and Director of Sales.
  • Preparing reports for plant managers and directors on rail data.
  • File all paperwork at site office or on Share Point.
  • Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Comply with Eco Material Technologies Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently with general support.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Proven experience in rail shipping, logistics, with knowledge of shipping regulations, customs procedures, and transportation modes.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and customers.
  • Proficiency in using rail shipping software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues, analyze data, and implement solutions to improve shipping operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade
  • 1.3 years' experience in a relevant field

The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
  • Prolong standing on concrete or in stationary position for up to eight hours per workday
  • Complete repetitive movements
  • Moderate to high physical effort required
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
  • Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
