Scope of Position:

  • Team Management:- Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of extrusion operators and technicians during the overnight shift.

    • Partner with site leadership and HR, conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to team members.
    • Resolve any personnel issues and manage employee relations effectively.

  • Safety Compliance:- Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are strictly adhered to.

    • Conduct safety inspections and address any potential hazards immediately.
    • Promote a culture of safety and ensure all team members are trained in safety practices.

  • Extrusion Line Operations:- Start up and shut down extrusion lines as necessary, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.

    • Monitor and maintain extrusion lines to ensure optimal performance and quality.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues with extrusion equipment.

  • Training and Mentoring:- Serve as a mentor and point of contact for operators in training, providing guidance and support.

    • Implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of new and existing team members.
    • Partner with site leadership and HR to provide feedback to and coach team members.

  • Production and Maintenance:- Oversee the production process to ensure targets are met and quality standards are maintained.

    • Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and perform routine and preventive maintenance on extrusion equipment.

  • Reporting and Communication:- Maintain accurate records of production, downtime, and any incidents that occur during the shift.

    • Communicate effectively with other shifts and departments to ensure seamless operations and address any issues.

Requirements:

  • Experience:- Minimum of 3 years of experience in plastic extrusion, with a demonstrable skill as a team leader.

    • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
    • Demonstrated experience in employee relations and conflict resolution.

  • Skills:- In-depth knowledge of extrusion equipment, processes, and maintenance.

    • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Education:- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Overnight shift with potential for weekend and holiday work as needed.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
