**The target start date for this position is mid to late September**

What You’ll Do.

The Operational Risk Analyst is directly responsible for supporting Corporate Governance Leadership with the daily operation and administration of SECU governance programs/responsibilities. This position, through specialized knowledge and skill, provides support to the organization on all matters relating to governance procedures.

Adhere to regulations and organizational policies, maintaining awareness and knowledge required to perform the duties of the position, including all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act and related regulations, such as OFAC, and the USA Patriot Act, Fair Lending and Information Security.

  • Support the daily administration of SECU’s Vendor Management Program. Responsible for supporting and tracking new and ongoing vendor due diligence reviews. Ensure vendor records are complete and accurate, and reviews are conducted per SECU policy.
  • Serve as a point of contact for general inquiries about Vendor Management, ensuring all required vendor due diligence and contract review requirements are satisfied. Assist with designing vendor data workflows.
  • Assist with the annual review of related policies and procedures. Provide requested reporting on critical vendors and program status.
  • Support SECU’s Business Continuity, Incident Response, and Disaster Recovery Programs. Coordinate annual testing and training. Ensure program documentation is up to date and accessible.
  • Assist with the review of SECU policies and procedures. Evaluates for process improvement/efficiency opportunities as well as compliance and risk concerns. Maintain documentation of review(s) and supports any change management processes when updating policies or procedures.
  • Identify, track, and monitor operational risks. Support remediation efforts. Maintain Risk Tracker and reporting.
  • Remain aware of risks facing SECU (legal, regulatory/compliance, enterprise, operational, etc.) and advises management. Collaborate with partner credit unions to share/identify risks and find effective and efficient solutions

What We’re Looking For.

  • 3-5 years’ experience working at a financial institution.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Industry Certifications in regulatory compliance and risk management preferred. Must obtain within 1 year of employment.
  • Understanding of rules/regulations and enterprise risk awareness from prior roles.
  • Compliance/ERM experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to research/interpret rules, regulations and recommend strategies to mitigate risk and maintain member service.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to identify risk(s) and propose effective and efficient solutions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to think outside of the box. Creative solution provider.
  • Team oriented, collaborative. Ability to foster relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to review power of attorney, representative payee, estate documents for acceptance at SECU.
  • Knowledge of litigation risk and ability to apply policy/procedure to ensure compliance.
  • Preferred experience with contracts
  • Microsoft Office (to include Outlook, Word, Excel)
