The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for overseeing and managing a federal government contract that includes management of project schedule, scope, and budget. The PM will be the face to the government client and provide a full array programmatic, technical, and administrative support services to help ensure agency mission success. The PM will help lead teams of local and remote professionals to deliver critical financial management services required by the US treasury regulations.

Role and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate for this Project Manager (PM) must be able to perform and/or support the following tasks:

  • Managing program staff and day-to-day operations.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with federal government customers, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to facilitate successful program performance and service.
  • Coordinating problem resolution between government service providers and their mission partner customers.
  • Maintaining accountability to government client for successful project completion within schedule and cost.
  • Planning and overseeing project processes to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.
  • Preparing project budgets, plan, and designating project resources, monitoring project execution, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Providing project governance and oversight, to ensure projects are well managed, stay on schedule, and meet metrics and goals outlined.
  • Identifying and leading business process improvement (BPI) solutions.
  • Adopting a unified project management methodology, building a project reporting structure, and identifying key performance indicators, such as report card or dashboard.
  • Acting as a liaison between functional and technical financial management process stakeholders to develop technical solutions and tools needed to maintain Financial Management Regulation (FMR) requirements.
  • Working with functional and technical Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) stakeholders to design, test, and install ERP updates that support US Treasury requirements.
  • Designing and implementing database repositories specific to the needs of government client and their financial management process and reporting requirements.
  • Serving as a technical expert on written and editorial policy matters while working in a fast-paced, deadline driven organization.

Qualifications, Education and Skills Requirements

· US citizenship.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years' experience providing project management support to a large corporation or government agency.
  • IT II DoD clearance (ideally an active clearance or able to obtain clearance).
  • Must have exceptional critical thinking and communication skills, particularly in writing policy-related materials.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience or working knowledge of MS Access, SQL, and QLIK.
  • An array of unique soft and hard skills needed to reach out to the project teams and work with them on achieving project goals.
  • Possess high-level oral and written communications skills; effectively communicate with all levels of client management, contractor managers and client agency representatives; adept in generating and conducting briefings, presentations, etc.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Additional Desires and Considerations

· Master's Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Logistics, Supply Management, Information Management, or related field.

  • Ten years of experience supporting a large corporation or government agency.
  • Federal government and DoD financial management and funds processing experience (MIPRs, 7600A/B, and G-invoicing).
  • Military veteran hiring preference.
