Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.Validates that all needed items are present prior to starting the procedure.
  • Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
  • Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
  • Properly cares for instrumentation and prepares them for decontamination. Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments.
  • Verifies sterility of back table, supplies and instrumentation prior to starting procedure and monitors throughout the procedure.

Must-Haves

1Surg Tech Certification in state of KY

2Graduate of a Program in Discipline

3Basic Life Support (BLS)

 

Minimum Education: Graduate of a Program in Surgical Technology RequiredCertification X Preferred

Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) within 10 days of hire

Schedule Full-time

Work Schedule Day shift, 7-10 hr/shift, rotate weekends
